Seaham High School

The Project

Seaham High lays out its vision for the school as being a vibrant place where every child matters. Recently, they developed a brand new site to replace their older and more tired campus; enabling them to provide a brighter, fresher learning environment, as well as providing extra capacity to allow for an increased intake going forward. We were initially successful in winning the contract to supply furniture for the school’s Learning Resource Centre; our ASM Amanda Shepherd coordinating between the school and our design team. Following this, we were successful in securing the supply of loose furniture for the rest of the building.

Our Solution

The Learning Resource Centre was designed to allow student access to the library catalogue, internet, homework resources and printers both during and after school. The area provides a safe and friendly environment for students to study and socialise. All 34 classrooms were equipped with our teachers walls, classroom tables, and Postura chairs; with vibrant colours to create an engaging and welcoming atmosphere. The dining area posed the challenging requirement of having to achieve 335 covers in one sitting, which we were pleased to be able to achieve with a mixture of Block Benching and Sico tables.
