The Gateway, a three-storey building set at the entrance to the Bedford campus, offers the University’s students a whole range of facilities. These services include high quality teaching spaces, informal learning spaces, and lecture theatres (including a Harvard style lecture theatre); as well as a new student services centre.
The Gateway is the centrepiece of a stunning £25m redevelopment which has transformed the campus.
The University project team wanted to provide the very best facilities to support their students throughout their studies. Students today demand high quality lecture theatres and seminar rooms. They expect
state-of-the-art technology to support their learning and they want somewhere nice to go when they’re not at lectures.
Godfrey Syrett suggested furniture solutions to provide the wow factor in this state of the art building. We provided comfortable yet stylish areas to create an inspirational learning environment for students.
The Gateway is part of the University’s wider ‘greening of the campus’ initiative and includes a number of sustainable and low carbon technologies. Godfrey Syretts strong environmental accreditations assisted in supporting the Universities goal for an ‘excellent BREEAM rating’
