1st December 2016, 17:25pmWe have recently secured a £1.46m contract for fitted and loose furniture in a major student accommodation scheme in Glasgow, Foundry Courtyard.
Multinational infrastructure group Balfour Beatty has awarded the contract to Godfrey Syrett following a competitive tender process.
We will be supplying a range of accommodation furniture for the 536-bedroom Foundry Courtyard development on the east side of the city, as well as furnishing communal spaces, offices and reception areas.
Earlier this year we launched a dedicated fitted furniture division which works with main contractors in the construction sector on a national level, to deliver bespoke furniture solutions for new build projects within the education, defence, hospitality, commercial and healthcare sectors.
We have also recently announced the opening of a new dedicated accommodation showroom at its Durham manufacturing site, to showcase our newly designed range, ‘Work, Rest & Play’.

Balfour Beatty began construction of the Foundry Courtyard scheme in November 2015, which comprises two blocks positioned around a central courtyard containing 149 self-contained studios and 387 bedrooms in cluster flats. Completion of the project is expected by spring 2017.
This is Balfour Beatty’s first project for the direct let market as a developer of student accommodation. Balfour Beatty’s developer role includes site purchase, planning, design, construction and operation of the scheme, together with direct letting of the rooms and student management elements.

We are also delivering a £600,000 accommodation contract directly with the University of Edinburgh and has previously completed projects at Birmingham City University, Nottingham University, Kingston University and the University of Bedfordshire
