19th May 2014, 12:00pmFollowing on from the success of our Christmas raffle, where we raised a staggering £4,088 for Children North East, we are again looking to help this worthy cause in the form of charity family bike ride!
Children North East is the oldest independent children's charity in the North East of England - founded in 1891. Each year they support over 5000 children, young people and familes to overcome problems associated with poverty and deprivation and enable them to reach their full potential in life. http://www.children-ne.org.uk/
The course is a 15 mile circuit along both the North and South banks of the Tyne, and promises to be a great day for cyclists and spectators alike.
The ride begins at Mid-day on Sunday 22nd June.
At 12.00 noon a team of Godfrey Syrett suppliers, employees and their families will head off, riding along the North bank of the Tyne heading towards Newburn. There the team will cross the Tyne and travel back along the South bank to the Millennium Bridge, where we cross back over and return to our starting point.
It all promises to be a really great day (whatever the weather!). The course follows dedicated cycle routes, and is suitable for all bike types.
