Godfrey Syrett have enjoyed a close partnership with the DfT for over seven years. As the sole furniture supplier to the department we have worked with them not only to provide office furniture and equipment within the office workplace, but also during the DfT’s Home Working pilot scheme.

The scheme was piloted in the London area to see if the DfT would benefit from having its employees work from home. It was hoped that with a lower percentage of its workers using the city based office, money could be saved on reduced office space. Also workers would improve their work life balance by spending less time commuting

On entering the pilot scheme the DfT needed to be able to set up its home workers with office equipment including desks, chairs, storage, accessories and stationary. They were able to acquire this from Godfrey Syrett through its ‘One Stop Shop’ approach, reducing the time spent searching for products. Having worked with Godfrey Syrett previously there was also the reassurance that all Godfrey Syrett products came with a full set of accreditations having been tested against all British European laws and standards.

The Godfrey Syrett design team worked with the home workers, checking space plans, to ensure the furniture which was to be put in their homes fitted to the space provided.

All furniture was offered in a range of sizes and colours so when delivered and moved into the clients homes it would fit as closely as possible to the existing décor.

Dedicated delivery drivers communicated directly with the employee receiving the furniture so as to arrange times and dates ensuring a hassle free and smooth transition.
