Warranty Policy

This Standard Warranty Policy is intended to provide clear standard warranty rules and conditions for goods manufactured or supplied by Godfrey Syrett. 

1.     General conditions

1.1.   As a full member of the Furniture Industry Research Association, our products are tested for attributes such as strength and durability, ergonomics, performance, surface finishes and cable management facilities.

1.2.   The high-quality build of products across our portfolio allows us to provide a standard guarantee period, of seven years for all products manufactured by Godfrey Syrett.

2.     What is warrantied?

2.1.   The warranty period for each product is given within the table above with warranty period commencing from the date of installation.  The warranty covers defects in material and workmanship on all main parts. Subject to the exclusions set out at clause 5 below.

2.2.   This warranty does not apply to electrical components within products. The warranty period for all electrical components are restricted to the original manafacturer’s warranty.

2.3.   Where Goods are supplied via a third party, then the customer acknowledges and agrees that the original manafacturer’s warranty shall apply.

3.     Conditions for the warranties

3.1.   Products are to be maintained in accordance with the Godfrey Syrett Product Care & Maintenance Guides (Guides), available through the company website. Additional information is available on request. Failure to follow the Guides may invalidate the warranty.

3.2.   Warranties may also be invalidated if products are used in 24/7 environments, used in environments different to those for which Godfrey Syrett supplied the products, or if used for a purpose different to that for which Godfrey Syrett supplied the product and/or the product was intended.

3.3.   The original purchase order / receipt is required as proof of purchase.

4.     How do we correct the problem?

4.1.   Godfrey Syrett will examine the product and determine whether it is covered under this warranty. Godfrey Syrett will then, at its discretion, either repair the defective product or replace it with the same or a comparable product. In these cases, Godfrey Syrett will be responsible for the costs of repairs, spare parts, labour or collection and/or delivery, provided the product is accessible for repair during normal working hours. If the item is no longer sold by Godfrey Syrett, an appropriate replacement will be provided. Godfrey Syrett will decide, at its discretion, what constitutes an appropriate replacement.

5.     Exclusions

5.1.   Godfrey Syrett is not liable under this Warranty where a defect arises from any or all of the following:
 
a.     fair wear and tear;
b.     cuts, scratches, or damage caused by impacts or accidents;
c.     products that have been placed outdoors or in a humid environment;
d.     use other than for the contracted use;
e.     where the customer is supplied Goods adapted by Godfrey Syrett, despite Godfrey Syrett advising against such adaptions being made to the Goods;
f.      alteration of the goods (other than by Godfrey Syrett or Agent of);
g.     repair of the goods (other than by Godfrey Syrett or Agent of);
h.     abnormal working conditions, including use in a 24/7 environment;
i.      failure to follow or to follow fully the Guides or other of Godfrey Syrett’s instructions (whether written or oral) or maintanence requirements;
j.      improper installation or connection (unless Godfrey Syrett carried out the installation and connection);
k.     wilful damage, misuse or negligence;
l.         changes made to ensure they comply with applicable statutory or regulatory requirements.
 
6.       General Legal Rights

6.1.   This warranty gives you specific legal rights. This warranty does not, in any way, affect the rights given to you by law. You may also have other rights under applicable local law.
